Attractions
A seamless blend between old and new, Philadelphia's dynamic collection of museums, historical sites, and attractions cannot be matched by any other American city. From America's first museum, zoo and post office, to modern additions like the National Constitution Center and the Please Touch Museum®, we have something for everyone.
Featuring our nation's "most historical square mile," Philadelphia is a history buff's paradise. Located in the heart of Center City, Independence National Historical Park offers visitors a chance to travel back in time to early America. The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall - the site where our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and wrote the U.S. Constitution - are our most notable landmarks. But there is so much more amazing history to experience! Step into Carpenters' Hall, where the Continental Congress met in 1774. Sit in the same pews as George and Martha Washington and Benjamin Franklin in Christ Church. Relive the Colonial era and the birth of our nation by visiting the Second Bank of the United States, Franklin Court, Declaration House, and the dozens of other historical sites in Old City.
If your time for sightseeing is limited, see and learn about Philadelphia through a variety of unique tour experiences, ranging from World War II amphibious vehicles to horse drawn carriages to double-decker buses to open-air trolleys.
No matter what you decide to do and where you decide to go, you are guaranteed to be entertained, educated, and inspired!
