US Lacrosse National Convention Returns to Philadelphia; Will Meet at Expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center through 2014

Keynote speech by former Philadelphia Eagle Herm Edwards and Fan Fest among the many highlights

WHAT:     US Lacrosse, the national governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse, is hosting its national convention in Philadelphia for the next three years (2012-2014).  It is the largest professional development and networking event in                     the lacrosse world for coaches, officials and administrators at all levels of play and last met in Philadelphia, and at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, in 2008.

                Former Philadelphia Eagle, NFL head coach and current ESPN analyst Herm Edwards will deliver the keynote speech on Friday, Jan. 13, 7 p.m., in Ballroom AB.

                In addition, this year’s convention features the US Lacrosse Fan Fest on Saturday, Jan. 14, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Grand Hall. Tickets cost $10 onsite and just $5 for players wearing lacrosse jerseys. Fan Fest includes                                       demonstrations by players from the U.S. national teams and the Philadelphia Wings on the STX Live Field, and an appearance by Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”), lead actor of the upcoming “Crooked Arrows” lacrosse feature                   film. Autographs are also available. Also, Fan Fest includes the sport’s largest exposition hall, featuring 140 vendors.
