Convention Center District
Vine to Market streets | 6th to Broad streets
A leader in meeting facilities, the Pennsylvania Convention Center is known for its convenient downtown location. Attendees can step out of the center to find terrific restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities.
The state-of-the-art facility is just blocks from Philadelphia’s historic City Hall where you’ll find elaborate staircases, massive clocks, and more than 250 Alexander Calder sculptures, including the 37-foot-tall William Penn figure — the tallest sculpture to top any building in the world.
Attendees will enjoy the Convention Center neighborhood’s accessibility to the theaters, museums, and concert halls along the Avenue of the Arts; progressive Midtown Village’s one-of-a-kind boutiques and restaurants; Rittenhouse Row’s renowned upscale shopping and dining; and Old City’s historic attractions and amazing art galleries. Just steps away from the Convention Center they’ll find Reading Terminal Market, a great place for a quick, authentic Philadelphia lunch, and Chinatown. This cultural enclave, marked by its signature Friendship Gate, offers visitors plenty to see, taste, and experience. Filled with authentic (and delectable) restaurants as well as exciting shops, Chinatown is a must-see.
Six short blocks east of the Convention Center, Independence National Historical Park spans 20 blocks and is home to America’s “most historic square mile.” Here attendees will find some of Philadelphia’s most popular attractions, including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, and the National Constitution Center.
Just steps from the Convention Center’s additional entrance on the Avenue of the Arts is the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Walk west from the Convention Center to the Parkway/Museums District. Parisian-style Benjamin Franklin Parkway extends from City Hall to Fairmount Park and features cultural offerings such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Franklin
Institute, The Academy of Natural Sciences, the Rodin Museum, and, coming soon, The Barnes Foundation.
