ON LOCATION
Philadelphia's distinct flavor as a modern city with historic landmarks scattered throughout, make it a compelling setting for any story. Filmmakers love "The most historic square mile in America" and the city's striking architecture and diverse backdrops make it a top-notch filming destination fitting for any genre.
A trip to Philadelphia is not complete without joining the laughing throngs of visitors running the Rocky Steps — the nickname given to the front steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art after Sylvester Stallone triumphantly trained on them in "Rocky," (and in four of its sequels, II, III, V, and recently-released "Balboa.")
PRIME TIME PHILLY
Philly hits the mark on the small screen as well, starring as the playground for the cast of MTV's 15th season of "The Real World" and the stomping yard for Bill Cosby's "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" animated TV series.Created by a Philadelphia-native in 2005, the wildly popular FX comedy series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" stars Danny DeVito and focuses on the troubles of four egocentric friends in the city.
