Shopping Shoes - Int'l

While some people come to Philadelphia for history or culture, some come just to shop. Shopping is a popular activity in the Philadelphia region, where clothing and shoes are tax-free. The city is full of incredible shopping complexes and one-of-a-kind specialty stores. Some of the biggest names in shopping can be found on Rittenhouse Row, where Nicole Miller, Ralph Lauren, and Tiffany are just a few of the tenants on this premier shopping strip. Build some time into your schedule to explore Jewelers' Row, the country's oldest diamond district with more than 300 jewelry-related businesses, and Antique Row, the place to find exquisite treasures and expert advice. For a more eclectic selection, visit South Street, University City, Manayunk, or the cobble-stoned streets of Chestnut Hill.

More shopping can be found in Olde City, where on the First Friday of every month, the galleries and one-of-a-kind shops stay open late and the neighborhood takes on a festive atmosphere.

Located in Philadelphia's landmark building. The Shops at Liberty Place house a collection of fine shops in the heart of downtown. Approximately 25 minutes from the city centre is the largest retail complex in the country, King of Prussia Mall, and its eight department stores and more than 365 big-name retailers. The Philadelphia Premium Outlets are a discount shopper’s dream come true. With 150 shops located 30 minutes outside the city, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Shop 25-60 percent off some of the most recognized name brand stores. From DKNY, True Religion, and the Gap, to J Crew, Sony and Puma you will not go home empty handed..

Once home to Philadelphia’s first modern department store, the lavish Wanamaker building, is now home to Macy’s Center City department store. Make sure to stop by the Visitors Center where travellers will receive an all day shopping coupon when they show their passport.

Bargain lovers will find it hard to leave Franklin Mills (25 minutes from the city centre) the official landmark of the discount shopper, and its 220 brand-name discount stores.

Whatever you are looking for, you will find so many shopping options in Philadelphia that you may need to bring an extra suitcase!
