Philadelphia Looks Forward to Hosting APA

May 5-9, 2012

The American Psychiatric Association (APA) is a national medical specialty society whose 37,000 plus physician and student members -- throughout North American and countries around the world -- specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, mental retardation, and substance use disorders. The oldest medical specialty society in the United States, APA's roots extend back to October 1844. The APA is the voice and conscience of modern psychiatry. Mental illness affects the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds.
