The first stop for every tourist, the Visitor Center features six oversize, vibrant wall panels depicting images of more than 500 regional attractions categorised by theme: Historical Sites, Parks & Recreation, Museums & Archives, Performing Arts & Entertainment, Architecture & Public Art and Philadelphia Life. Each panel has a video overview in English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese. Visitors can use touch screen computer kiosks to find attractions, hotels and restaurants, and print out the information as well. Large message boards provide information about daily events. Two theatres show free orientation films throughout the day, including “Independence,” an overview of the Independence National Historical Park.

At the Independence Visitor Center, tourists will also find a coffee shop overlooking the park and a large store with items from the Philadelphia region.
